The 31st edition of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) in Geneva, from 7 to 15 November, will bring together films, series and immersive experiences, highlighting audiovisual innovation.
The Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) unveils some highlights from its upcoming program. True to its mission of exploring audiovisual creation, GIFF is proud to announce an exceptional encounter with producer Nathalie Nath, a pioneering figure in Swiss television; a multidisciplinary tribute to a talented filmmaker and master of emotional decryption, Quebec's Jean-Marc Vallée, as well as two major immersive experiences that give pride of place to interaction. Each year, the event celebrates audiovisual media in all its formats—films, series, and immersive experiences—and brings together 35,000 festival-goers over ten days.
With its unique approach, GIFF has established itself as a major event in Europe. A pioneering and inventive spirit already permeates these initial program elements and promises a cascade of discoveries**.**
Among the events not to be missed is a meeting with Nathalie Nath, a visionary figure in Swiss television and guest of honor at Tales of Swiss Innovation 2025. Established in 2021, this section has already paid tribute to Sarah Kenderdine (2024), Marguerite Kudelski (2023), OIL Productions (2022), and Sabine Süsstrunk (2021). As a producer at Télévision Suisse Romande (TSR), Nathalie Nath has had a profound impact on the history of its programming. Between 1965 and 1971, she designed interactive formats aimed at young adults. One of these, the scandalous Canal 18/25, brought together young people live on air to express their opinions. Exclusive excerpts and discussions with Nathalie Nath moderated by Roxane Gray (researcher, UNIL) and Sophie Meyer (documentalist, RTS) on Sunday, November 2.
