GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours of the exhibition by a watchmaking expert
Wednesdays at 2pm and 3pm. Thursdays at 12pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm (50 mins). Suitable for all ages 12 and above.

WATCHMAKING WORKSHOPS
Run by the Geneva Watchmaking School, these introductory watchmaking workshops allow you to immerse yourself in the heart of a watch's mechanism by experimenting with watchmaking skills such as assembly, chamfering and pivoting.
Wednesdays at 2pm and 3pm. Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. (60 mins). Open to all ages 10 and above.

WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Engraving workshop
This workshop allows younger children to step into the shoes of an engraver by chiselling and setting their ‘box bottom’. They learn engraving techniques under the watchful eye and guidance of instructors from the International Watchmaking Museum (MIH).
Saturdays 8 and 15 November at 2pm (75 mins). For ages 6 to 8. 18 places available.

The Sundial Workshop
This workshop, offered by the International Watchmaking Museum (MIH), involves building a fully functional sundial that can be used to tell the time using the sun.
Saturdays 8 and 15 November at 4pm (90 mins). Ages 8 to 12. 18 places available.

CONFERENCE
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) is hosting a lecture dedicated to watches that have made history. Through a selection of legendary models, Pascal Ravessoud, Vice-President of the FHH, will explain what makes a watch iconic: timeless design, technical prowess and cultural influence. A concise and inspiring tribute to watchmaking excellence.
Thursday 30 October at 6.30 p.m. (45 mins). Open to all ages 15 and over.

SCHOOLS (free activities)
COMBINED EDUCATIONAL OFFER FOR SCHOOLS "Discovering watchmaking "
Three combined activities for students aged 10 to 16 (8P and Cycle d'orientation):

  • Introductory workshop on watchmaking (45 min) This workshop allows participants to immerse themselves in the heart of a watch's mechanism by experimenting with three watchmaking skills: assembly, chamfering and pivoting.
  • Workshop on ‘gears’ (45 mins) Using an educational kit containing a sophisticated set of gears, and accompanied by scientific mediators, young people discover the basic concepts (force, speed, lifting, transmission of energy or information, watchmaking).
  • Guided tour of the exhibition of 90 timepieces (45 minutes) Led by an expert watchmaker, students will discover the excellence of contemporary watchmaking productions pre-selected by the GPHG Academy.

Tuesdays (4 and 11 November), Wednesdays (5 and 12 November), Thursdays (30 October, 6 and 13 November) and Fridays (31 October and 14 November), 45 minutes per workshop, i.e. 180 minutes for the entire school trip (including breaks), maximum 24 students.
