Tribute to Frank Sinatra
To pay tribute is to remember a remarkable figure, to discover or rediscover a life story, and to recognize the uniqueness of a genius who left a lasting mark on history — in this case, the history of jazz. It is a voice, the voice according to many specialists: that of the incomparable Frank Sinatra.
It is also the story of integration, embodied by the son of Italian immigrants who helped shape America into what it is today, at least culturally. It is a way of understanding jazz itself — a music built by displaced minorities who transformed pain into beauty through music.
This evening in the vineyards is a celebration of swing and melody, of listening and dialogue between audience and musicians, between past and present. Through the timeless songs of Sinatra, the music comes alive once again in a moment of shared emotion and elegance.
