On April 2 2026,nearly 600 committed participants will gather alongside leading witnesses for peace and humanity. They will meet in the Tempus Room of the Palais des Nations in Geneva and online.

Dear friends of peace,
The International Day of Conscience will be celebrated on April 2 2026 at the Palais des Nations with renewed momentum and strengthened commitments. It has been a joy to welcome you in previous years and this year we are delighted to invite you once again to join us in reinventing peace together with youth!
In a world marked by conflict division, and rising violence, the International Day of Conscience unanimously adopted in 2019 by United Nations Member States and celebrated the 5th of april every yea issues a clear and urgent call:to create spaces for encounter, dialogue and awareness in order to build peace and achieve the 2030 Agenda together. On April 2, 2026, nearly 600 committed participants will gather alongside leading witnesses for peace and humanitycomings coming from conflict affected regions as well as experts, volunteers, institutional representatives, artists and young people from around the world. They will meet in the Tempus Room of the Palais des Nations in Geneva and online to celebrate this day dedicated to mobilizing civil society for peace. Some activists will share their journey of conscience amid fratricidal conflicts such as in Sudan conflicts largely ignored in deafening media silence while today 25 million people, including 15 million children, risk dying of hunger in the coming months.Palestinian and Israeli women activists, personally marked by the pain of seeing their children kill or be killed, will deliver a powerful appeal through the signing of the Mothers’ Call for Peace. The songs of Gaza’s children, the Singing Birds, will rise louder than drones and bombs. We will also hear testimonies and bold, creative, and concrete proposals from young people speaking during plenary sessions and roundtables on peace, ecology in all its dimensions, and more broadly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Some young participants will speak, others will co-facilitate sessions, while many are part of the steering committee (intergenerational governance).Remember the standing ovations of 2025 following the cries of indignation and ambitious action plans proposed by young participants. What powerful emotions! We will ensure that their proposals are compiled into a white paper and transmitted to decision-makers in our countries. The event is co-organized by Pascale Fressoz, founding president of the NGO Alliance Internationale pour les Objectifs de Développement (AI-ODD), which holds ECOSOC consultative status with the United Nations, and Sofia Stril-Rever, initiator of the International Day of Conscience celebration in 2023 and founder of the philanthropic fund LoveForce. This colloquium is sponsored by Loveforce. We have received valuable support from the United Nations Office at Geneva, the City of Geneva, a broad collective of foundations, NGOs, networks and companies, diplomatic missions, local Authorities from the Pays de Savoie region, and educational and research institutions based in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Geneva. The International Day of Conscience 2026 embodies a strong and urgent conviction:peace is possible if we choose to build it together,in the face of the collapse of multilateralism and the major challenges threatening humanity.Because peace cannot be built without youth the beating heart of the future nearly 250 young people will stand up on April 2 to say no to violence.Because art and culture are powerful tools for awakening awareness,we will welcome artists, including Anima who will invite the public into co-creation by consciously and lovingly placing salt crystals onto his artwork The Star of Magdala. Students from the École Internationale de Genève will exhibit their mural Sharing Peace and contribute to peace declarations created by schoolchildren, students, and professionals many of whom have chosen altruism and impact-driven careers. For further information about the programme and practical information, click on the link below:
