Come and discover Geneva as it was in days gone by during a weekend that will take you back in time.

History:
Every year, the Compagnie de 1602 commemorates the anniversary of the Escalade Battle, which took place on the night of 11–12 December 1602. This was an unsuccessful attempt by Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy, to take Geneva by surprise by scaling its walls.
For three days, it recreates scenes from everyday life in Geneva at the dawn of the 17th century.
With more than 2,000 members, it is now the largest historical society in our country. Its ranks include citizens of all ages, origins and faiths.
Program:
The Compagnie de 1602 brings the streets of Geneva's old town to life. Groups of fifers, drummers and brass players, arquebusiers, pikemen and cavalry patrols, as well as our ‘Falco’ cannon, parade and march, presenting life in the 17th century.
During the weekend, you can enjoy refreshments in the city.
Our stalls sell Escalade badges, publications and many other products.
In the evening, the streets are lit by torchbearers and torches.
During the grand procession, mulled wine and lanterns will be on sale.
Some demonstrations are subject to favourable weather conditions.
