Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart | Directed by David McVicar Opera in two acts – One intermission – Run time: 3 hours 30 minutes Sung in German with French subtitles
Princess Pamina has been abducted. Her mother, the Queen of the Night, tasks the young Prince Tamino with her rescue. Joined by his faithful sidekick Papageno, Tamino embarks on a grand adventure—only to realize that when searching for love, appearances can be deceiving. Guided by an enchanted flute, they encounter monsters, bandits, and a mysterious brotherhood; yet, true help often arrives when they least expect it.
Mozart’s fantastical opera shines in David McVicar’s spellbinding production. This prestigious cast features Julia Bullock as Pamina, Amitai Pati as Tamino, and Huw Montague Rendall as Papageno, alongside Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night and Soloman Howard as Sarastro. They perform under the baton of French conductor Marie Jacquot in her highly anticipated Covent Garden debut.
