One night, at a construction site in West Africa and after the gates are locked, a man appears. His name is Alboury, and he has come to reclaim his brother’s body.

At a large construction site in West Africa, Horn (Matt Dillon) and Cal (Tom Blyth) oversee operations while living inside the compound, sealed off behind double security fences reserved for White workers. On the evening of Horn’s wife Leonie’s arrival (Mia McKenna-Bruce), Alboury (Isaach de Bankolé) arrives at the gates, demanding the body of his brother, a labourer who died on the site earlier that day. The film is adapted from Bernard-Marie Koltès’s 1979 play Black Battles with Dogs.
