It’s a uniformly grey world, ruled by rules as precise as they are ruthless, a realm of relentless competition.

Two champions face off on either side of a ring, where avatars, humanoid figures with mechanical movements, responding to commands, battle on their behalf in fiercely competitive trials that are, curiously, drawn from everyday life.
Blending video games, visual art, circus performance and puppetry, Alice Laloy constructs a dystopian, all-encompassing universe. The performers – acrobats, singers, a contortionist, dancers – are disturbingly virtuosic, captivating and unsettling in equal measure. They conjure a space of ambiguity, provoking reflection on systems of domination in today’s world, as well as our own potential for rebellion and change.
