Museum Night at the MEG: Playing in the heart of the museum

Giant wooden games. Foyer and permanent exhibition. Open continuously from 6pm to midnight.

Jeu en bois avec un planche en bois et une poignée qui permet de guider une bille en bois sur un parcours sinueux.

Six giant wooden games created by Gerry Oulevey take centre stage in the museum.

Inspired by traditional games, they explore different aspects of play: strategy, skill, cooperation and chance. Visitors are invited to play, experiment and reflect on the importance of play in our societies, and to take an active role in their visit. We no longer simply observe: we experiment, we handle the objects, we laugh, and we reflect together. The museum becomes a living space, where the visit also involves the body, interaction and emotion.

Access to the games is free all evening.
