After the inaugural concert on January 30, 2025, at Victoria Hall, the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nikolay Khozyainov, continues its season with its spring concert, featuring works by Mozart and Haydn filled with beauty and emotion. The soloist will be Geneva musician Adrien Philipp, the orchestra’s principal clarinetist.

Based in Geneva, the city of peace, The Peace Philharmonic Orchestra is an ensemble of passionate musicians dedicated to creating a world where music and beauty reign supreme. We believe with all our hearts that through our performances, we have the power to unite people, heal divides, and foster a sense of solidarity among all.

Nikolay Khozyainov

Pianist, composer, and conductor Nikolay Khozyainov is one of the most remarkable musicians. His poetic musicality and breathtaking technique have captivated audiences around the world.

By the age of 6, Khozyainov had already made his debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 7, he debuted in Munich and Frankfurt, at 9 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, at 16 in the United States, and at 17 at the United Nations.

Since then, he has been performing on the world’s greatest stages, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Sydney Opera House, the Tonhalle in Zurich, Palazzo Quirinale in Rome, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the United Nations, and many others.

Khozyainov performs with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, La Scala Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, among many others.

He is a graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he was awarded the gold medal as pianist and conductor.
He holds an advanced diploma from the Hannover Hochschule für Music in Germany.

Nikolay Khozyainov has been honored by numerous heads of state. He was knighted as Knight Commander by the Spanish Royal Family in 2022. Khozyainov was decorated by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan at his concert at Suntory Hall in Tokyo.

In 2022, the United Nations commissioned Nikolay Khozyainov to compose a piece for Peace. Nikolay gave the world premiere of Petals of Peace at his Concert for Peace at the United Nations Human Rights Hall in November 2022, followed by the American premiere in October 2023 at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco (where the UN Charter was signed). Nikolay Khozyainov awarded with the Gold Medal of Peace.
Khozyainov speaks 11 languages.
His music is published by Muse Press in Tokyo, Japan.

Adrien Philipp
Clarinet

Born in Geneva, Adrien Philipp is the only Swiss clarinetist to have been selected for the most recent editions of the Geneva International Competition, the ARD Competition in Munich, and the Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg. His career has led him to perform under the baton of conductors such as Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Antonio Pappano, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Vassily Petrenko, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gianandrea Noseda, and Nikolay Khozyainov. In addition, he has played in concerts alongside artists such as Leonidas Kavakos, Daniil Trifonov, Yuja Wang, Jan Lisiecki, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Sergey Khachatryan, and Jonas Kaufmann.

He regularly performs in orchestras as well as in chamber music. He has played with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Montpellier, the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, and participated in the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan in 2019.

In 2017 and 2018, he was a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra. Since 2021, he has been principal clarinet of the Nordic Wind Ensemble in Sweden and, since 2024, principal bass clarinet of the Orchestra of the Giuseppe Verdi Opera in Trieste.

In 2014, he was awarded second prize at the Swiss National Music Performance Competition in Riddes.

Adrien Philipp studied at the Haute école de musique de Genève with Romain Guyot and Antoine Marguier. His Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees were each distinguished with a special award. He then furthered his studies with Finnish soloist Björn Nyman at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
