Leaping from branch to branch, she recalls the adventures of her glorious literary ancestor, which she mixes with the vigorous telling of her own story. The shared spirit that runs through this family is undoubtedly one of rebellion and disobedience. Encounters at great heights come one after another, and no two are the same, leading to a global reappraisal of our relationship with others and with the living world.

After Platonov, which in 2022 took us in the footsteps of Chekhov through the forest of Vessy, Mathias Brossard continues his exploration of unusual places, suitable for theatre based on collective experience and shifting the gaze. In Perchée, he updates the theme of Italo Calvino’s novel and tackles current environmental issues and questions of political ecology with his trademark humour.
