What's hiding in your digital stuff?

NoOps traveling exhibition - No Planned Obsolescence Switzerland

Vitrine d'exposition avec des matériaux précieux sur des mini-socles.

As part of the City's actions for responsible digital technology, the Municipal Libraries are delighted to host an exhibition designed by the association NoOps - No Obsolescence Programmée Suisse. Through two display cases, it raises awareness of the preciousness of the materials contained in our phones. One highlights the precious metals used in their manufacture. The other evokes “urban mines,” such as those found in our drawers... Visit the exhibition during library opening hours:

Other dates to come in autumn!
Alongside this exhibition, you can also take part in the “Open your phone” workshops run by NoOps (registration required):

And use their electronic waste for creative purposes in the workshops at the Cité Library, Espace le 4e:

Finally, don't forget to check out the “Ecrans, parlons-en” (Let's talk about screens) events, organized in collaboration with theService de l'Enfance and Action Innocence.
If you have any old phones lying around in your drawers, drop them off with their cables in the NoOps recycling boxes located in all municipal libraries!
