Born and raised in Lisbon in a family of fado singers, Sara Correia grew up immersed in the sounds, stories and emotion of this deeply Portuguese art form. From a very young age, she performed in the most traditional fado houses, where she learned alongside legends such as Celeste Rodrigues, Maria da Nazaré, and Jorge Fernando.

At only 13 years old, she won the iconic Grande Noite do Fado in Lisbon — a moment that sealed her fate and launched a remarkable career.

🌍 A rising star with global reach
With three critically acclaimed albums – Sara Correia (2018), Do Coração (2021), and Liberdade (2023) – Sara Correia has quickly become a leading voice of contemporary fado. Her powerful, deep and emotional alto-contralto voice resonates with audiences across generations and borders.

She has already performed at major international venues such as Cadogan Hall (London), Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Coliseu dos Recreios (Lisbon), and Coliseu do Porto, often to sold-out crowds.

In 2025, she will appear at the Folies Bergère in Paris and will headline the MEO Arena in Lisbon in 2026 to present her next album.

She is also a coach on The Voice Portugal since 2023, reinforcing her role as a central figure in the Portuguese music scene.

💿 Liberdade: the sound of artistic freedom
Released in 2023, Liberdade is Sara Correia’s most personal and ambitious album to date. Produced with Diogo Clemente, it blends traditional fado roots with modern and eclectic arrangements. Contributions come from top Portuguese artists including Pedro Abrunhosa, Carminho, Tiago Bettencourt, and Carolina Deslandes.

“This is my most fado album — the most me,” says Sara. Songs such as “Chelas”, “Madrugou”, and “Balada Do Outono” (a stunning reinterpretation of Zeca Afonso) reflect her unique connection to both tradition and individuality.
