Performative and musical reading by Matteo Zimmermann and John Menoud at the Bibliothèque de la Cité

An original performance combining reading and music in the form of an eclectic lecture. This text, written by Francis Ponge in the 1950s, was originally commissioned by the Compagnie d'Électricité to advertise a mysterious power that most households did not yet have. Seventy-five years later, the poet still gives us food for thought and laughter, so rich and clear-sighted is the poetic material he conveys. It's never too late to learn to smile at ourselves... John Menoud and Matteo Zimmermann do their utmost to do justice to this multifaceted text. Warning: high voltage!
