2026 Swiss National Day Programme in Geneva

On 1st August 2026, the City of Geneva invites residents and visitors to a large public celebration in Parc La Grange.
From 3 pm — Parc La Grange comes alive with Swiss traditions and family entertainment: alphorns, flag throwing, a lantern parade, fifes and drums, plus a full kids' programme (giant soap bubbles, juggling, a climbing wall) and activities like ultimate frisbee for older visitors. Around 4:45 pm, the public can also meet Federal Councillor Beat Jans and the Mayor of Geneva informally in the park.
At 6 pm — The official ceremony begins, with speeches from Geneva's municipal authorities and guest of honour Federal Councillor Beat Jans.
Evening — The celebration continues with live concerts, DJ sets, acrobatic performances, and the traditional bonfire. A dedicated area is set aside for public fireworks, supervised by volunteer firefighters for safety.

Good to know for visitors:
Around 24 food stands and 3 bars offer Swiss specialities, international dishes, Geneva wines and local beers — all following sustainable food guidelines, with reusable tableware to limit waste.
To help with the summer heat, the park has a paddling pool, several fountains, a drinking water point and a shaded rest area with deck chairs.
