Already in 1963, at the first festival organised by ‘La Jeunesse’, the spirit of the event was already in full swing. On the strength of its popular success, a consortium of local organisations was formed in 1965 to ensure the festival’s long-term future. Over the years, the festival has grown and now attracts more than 40,000 visitors on fine, sunny days to this small village of around 500 inhabitants.
