2026 Swiss National Day Programme

On 1st August 2026, the City of Geneva invites residents and visitors to a large public celebration in Parc La Grange, with a local brunch held earlier in the day at Parc des Eaux-Vives.

The programme combines Swiss traditions, family activities, live music, local food and festive entertainment. Highlights include alphorns, flag throwing, a lantern parade, drums, a bonfire, children’s activities, acrobatic performances, concerts and DJ sets.

The official ceremony will begin at 6 pm, with speeches by representatives of the City of Geneva and guest of honour Federal Councillor Beat Jans.

Throughout the event, food stalls and bars will offer Swiss specialities, international flavours, Geneva wines and local beers. The celebration also follows sustainable guidelines, with reusable tableware, local partnerships and measures to improve visitor comfort during hot weather.
